Dear Church Family and Friends,
Before I get into the message, I want to share good news with you regarding the church. On August 12th, we will ordain three couples as elders and another three people as ministers of the gospel. This ordination is to acknowledge what these faithful people have already been doing as part of our body.
Thank you for your prayers as we continue to make the necessary adjustments in our new facility on Highway 17 in Fleming Island, Florida.
As we enter this season, school and football are upon us once again and the anticipation of parents and fans will soon be rewarded. All across the land we will hear cheers of defense, defense, defense as the opposing team gets the ball and moves forward hoping to score.
It always reminds me of Ephesians 6:10-18 when the enemy is seeking to score against us. It is time to encourage yourself in the Lord and in the power of His might. It is time to put on your defensive armor and stand firm against the wiles of the enemy. Have your loins girded with truth, and righteousness as your breastplate. Your feet are to be shod with peace, while the helmet of salvation covers your mind. Using your shield of faith to stop the darts coming from the enemy. Using the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word to defeat the plans of your adversary.
As you drive through those many school zones and see the football fields, let your voice be one of defense. You are standing effectively in the armor of God against an already defeated foe.
Be dressed and praying God’s word for you and others. The only hope your enemy has is that you will forget about the overwhelming victory that has been given to you through Christ Jesus.
I pray you have a happy and successful month and remember that God’s love is still reaching out to you.
